Mario Lemieux
Mario Lemieux – Mario Lemieux is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player. Mario Lemieux played 17 seasons as a forward for the Pittsburgh Penguins of the National Hockey League (NHL) between 1984 and 2005. At 11:21 this morning the Pittsburgh Penguins official site announced Lemieux will be knighted on June 17 by The National Order of Quebec. As Sam Kasan points out, it will soon be Sir Mario Lemieux.
Lemieux is currently the Penguins’ principal owner and chairman of the board, having bought the team out of bankruptcy in 1999. Mario Lemieux born October 5, 1965 in Montreal, Quebec.
