Martin Luther King worked tirelessly for civil rights, becoming the first leaders of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference. Martin luther king jr utilized writings by Thoreau and Gandhi to lead him in demonstrating peacefully to protest segregation. Martin luther king jr was a key figure in the passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1965.
We acknowledge Dr. King’s heroism, So in this particular Martin Luther King, Jr. Day that America can be proud that it can stand together to soon see the inauguration of an African American President. Martin Luther King, Jr. may have had a dream, but today we are experiencing a part of that dream in reality.
