The OAM2 Appointment Diary sends SMS text reminders. It’s great for dentists, doctors, psychologists, physiotherapists, etc, and it’s great for you if you are a patient / client.

My dentist’s receptionist seems to have the uncanny knack of knowing just when I have sat down to dinner and calls at that exact moment to remind me of my upcoming appointment.

It’d be easier for her and for me if they just used the OAM2 appointment diary. That way I’d get the info on my mobile phone and check it at my convenience. No more dinner interruptions (except for people who want to know if I’m happy with my long-distance plan).

Although it’s only available in Australia at this time, there are other similar systems available elsewhere. If your doctor / dentist / etc is still calling you to remind you, or not reminding you at all, maybe you should hint that they look into using an automated reminder like that found in OAM2.
