X² roller coaster

X² roller coaster – X² is a steel roller coaster operating at Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia, California USA. X² (roller coaster) is the world’s first 4th Dimension roller coaster and was the last roller coaster built by Arrow Dynamics.

X² is unique in that the trains’ seats can be rotated 360 degrees backwards or forwards, there is a 200-foot free fall, fog, fire and back flips along the nearly three-minute ride. The ride first opened to the public on January 12, 2002.

On December 2, 2007, the ride closed for upgrades. X² was repainted, received new third generation trains, and features new special effects. The ride reopened on May 24, 2008. Its name is pronounced X-two, not X-squared or X to the second power, (formerly known as X).
