Investigators are seeking a black Nissan Altima that will be missing a large portion of the passenger side front bumper and passenger side lower fog lamp.

The man displayed a handgun equipped with a laser sight, police said.

Detective Paul Weis of the Violent Criminal Apprehension Team with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department fired his weapon in the parking lot, police said in a news release. Greensboro police have not said why they are not identifying the officers involved, although the department as recently as last year identified officers involved in a fatal shooting.

An update issued by police this morning said the deceased was 17 and that his death is being investigated as a homicide.

Four Greensboro police officers and one Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officer shot at a man who died in the parking lot of a Clemmons convenience store Friday morning, a spokeswoman for the State Bureau of Investigation said in a news release Monday. Authorities have not said which officer or officers fired the fatal shot. 

AAU said on Twitter the meet was suspended, but will resume on Wednesday.

Diarus Mark Raynor, 29, was arrested and also charged with felony discharging a firearm within enclosure to incite fear and misdemeanor carrying concealed weapons.

An armed robbery and an assault with sexual motives were reported at the prominent civil rights activist’s home in the days before his death.

Police said about 8:30 a.m. that 41-year-old Joyeil Glover had died, and her death was now being investigated as a homicide.
